The Victorian Clean Technology Fund (VCTF) was established by the Victorian Government in 2003. Our mission is to foster innovation in clean technologies and renewable energy, and to support new enterprises who will provide pathways to net zero emissions for Australia. We fill the critical gap between discovery and commercialisation; with support through funding, mentoring and partnership opportunities.
VCTF is an evergreen fund, in that all returns from successful exits are re-invested in new opportunities.
The Board of VCTF acts as the fund’s investment committee. The Directors have extensive networks, a strong strategic focus, and significant experience in both clean energy and solutions for early-stage technology commercialisation.
VCTF invests only in companies that are incorporated in Australia, and that own (or have exclusive licences to) their critical intellectual property. Our priority is emerging clean tech businesses with a strategy to achieve sustainable point of difference, and for proposals where our investment is targeted to achieving a critical milestone or breakthrough.
We have a long history of highly successful collaboration with both investors and innovators. Currently, we are partnering with Startupbootcamp Australia on the annual Energy Next accelerator – advancing clean energy transition and sustainability through an innovative engagement and development process for start-ups.
