Joe has an extensive background over 35 years in technology start-ups and has established operations in Australia for a number of US-based corporations.
In addition to managing software and hardware development businesses, Joe has a strong telecommunications background spanning telephony, data communications and fiber optics and has lived and worked in Australia and the USA. Joe has served as a board member of a number of ASX listed companies and is principal of a boutique consulting business, Technology Venture Resources.
Ray is a specialist in bringing new technologies to market with 35+ years of experience developing and deploying Australian innovation and technology into global markets.
He holds a B.Sc(Tech) Electronic Engineering, is a Fellow of the Institute of Company Directors ; Fellow of the Institute of Engineers Australia(Ret). Ray was CEO and Managing Director of Cell Therapies Pty Ltd a specialist contract manufacturer and provider of state of the art cellular therapies. Ray is currently a director & principal of Irendos Pty Ltd a private consulting firm.
Throughout a distinguished and multi-faceted career, Matthew has made major contributions to applied research, organisational development and product innovation. In 2003 he was awarded a Centenary of Federation Medal.
With postgraduate qualifications in both science and intellectual property law, Matthew was previously global VP for Research and Technology SOLA International, and CEO of the CRC for Sensor Signal and Information Processing and the CRC for Advanced Automotive Technology.
In 2012 he moved to apply his skills and experience to senior leadership roles in the University sector, first as a College Executive at RMIT and then in the university-wide role of Pro Vice Chancellor, Research Commercialisation at Swinburne.
Outside VCTF Matthew is Research Committee Chair at SmartCrete CRC and Adjunct Professor with Swinburne University’s Centre for Transformational Innovation.
Leonie Walsh is a Board Director and strategic adviser in technological innovation with over 30 years of local and international experience across a broad range of sectors and industries.
Leonie recently completed a three-year term as Victoria’s inaugural Lead Scientist from 2013 to 2016. In this capacity Leonie was a contributing member on the Future Industries Ministerial Advisory Council, represented Victoria on the Forum of Australian Chief Scientists and participated as an industry expert on a range of Government grant programs.
Leonie’s most recent strategic advisory focus has been in the Renewable Energy, Clean Technology and Education sectors with current roles including the Board Chair for the Center for New Energy Technologies (C4NET), Independent Director of RayGen, Swinburne University of Technology Council member, Independent Director of the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering and Advisory Board member for Paintback and Textor.
In a career spanning more than 30 years, 5 with Ernst & Young, Craig has added value to numerous public and private sector organizations at the Senior Management level.
He has extensive professional and managerial experience with a strong background in strategic business development, financial improvement through process re-engineering, restructuring and enhanced MIS borne out of a successful career in both local and multi-national organizations, including private equity.
Craig is a Chartered Accountant and the founder and principal of the boutique chartered accounting and consulting firm, The Tartan Group, established in 2006 which provides virtual finance team, CFO and Company Secretarial services to many startups and SME through to small publicly listed entities.
Outside of his role as principal of The Tartan Group, Craig provides his professional experience to a number of not-for-profit and charitable institutions on a pro-bono basis. He is particularly interested in technology and the future of our community.
